Fitness

First let me start off by saying... I'm normal. My primary job is not personal training, fitness coaching, or anything in the fitness world. I do not spend hours in a gym on daily basis, but I do strive to be healthy and fit. I don't always buy all organic, and shop at whole foods and to be honest my favorite food is french fries and pizza. I am however conscious of what I put into my body, and believe in moderation. This page is dedicated to my extremely normal workout life... If I can do it, believe me when I say you can do it.

My Fitness tips to the world

****I'm not a trainer or nutritionist these are from my personal experiences****

1. Don't starve yourself honestly food is good, life is short. I don't have to compromise all the foods I love to be fit. However with that said I am also not going to indulge in pizza, cookies, and french fries EVERYDAY moderation is key when it comes to food.

2. Make working out a part of your everyday schedule. I make list, that's just what I do.. so everyday before I start my day I sit and I write out everything I hope to realistically accomplish during the day. And yes...you guessed it , working out is on that list everyday!

3. Get a polar heart-rate watch monitor I am not getting paid for this! haha but seriously I love my watch. It tells me exactly how many calories I burn. Previously, I would sweat and think " Oh man I burned so many calories" only to now realized I didn't really burn that many. It keeps me on track and motivated.

4. Just because you work-out doesn't mean that's it for the day. I work from home and my job mainly requires me to be in front of a computer all day. I use to think that if I worked out for an hour that was it , I was done with being active...FALSE. Now I try to intentionally get up more and take short break to walk my dog. Being active is a lifestyle not just a 1 hour thing.

Cardio Week !

Monday :

Goal: To run for 60 mins. It doesn't matter how slow but I am running, NOT walking for 60 mins.

Reality: 52 min run which was about a 12 min mile pace. 560 calories burned

Tip for success: Go slow, I usually start off running fast! But since my goal was to simply run for 60 mins, I ran slower than usual.

Tuesday :

Goal: Boot camp, burn 400-500 calories

Reality: 45 mins boot camp we did a lot of body weighted exercise like dips and push-ups we also did small cardio intervals like burpees.

Burned 377 calories
To get the extra 23 to meet my minimum goal of 400 I went for a brisk walk with my dog and husband after dinner and burned about 75 calories.

Total calories burned: 452

Wednesday:

Goal: Hump day is my rest day. My goal is to walk for 60 mins at a brisk pace.

Reality: I had a crazy day at work… so I couldn't go for the 60 mins walk instead I did 25 mins.

Thursday:

Goal: Complete Ploymetrics workout video in insanity with only taking breaks when the video takes breaks.

Reality: I completed the insanity DVD,  boy was it hard!! I didn't take very many breaks I counted 2. That's a huge success in my book!

Friday:

I didn't have any goals today, but as soon as I got a little break from work I went on a 4.5 mile run.

Saturday:

Goal: Complete 1 hr of cycling and 1 hr of pilates

Sunday:

Overview of the week (5/12/14-5/18/14):
This week went okaayyy I don't feel like it was my best workout week or best eating week. I am hoping that this  upcoming week will be a new start =) My goal every week is to work out 5-6 times a week. This upcoming week I will be adding two days of weight training.
