Intentional

Lately the phrase that has been floating around in my life is "be intentional".

Specifically being intentional in my relationships and with my time. What does it look like to be intentional with every relationship and every moment that we are given?

Many times my relationships sprout out of convenience. I become close with co-workers because I see them every day, I become close with church friends because we are in a common bible study. But what I have learned is that if I am not intentional about those relationships, once that job is over or that bible study has ended those friendships have also come to pass. I am no fool and I realize that sometimes life does take its toll and that those relationship were good while in that season in my life. But there are a few relationships I believe every person should have that are intentional and thought out that are more than just convenient. It is in those intentional, sought out relationships that we grow, that we build community, that we carry each others burdens. I realize that I need to be more intentional about the people I do life with, that if I am not intentional I will end up doing life alone and without a solid sense of community.

Not only am I learning to be intentional with my relationships, but also with my time. Protecting my time and where I invest it. Growing up, I wanted to be in everything, involved with everything, I wanted really to do everything. I have found is that living in that way is tiring and full with empty commitments.

I want to live my life and spend my moments intentionally instead of just going where everyone else is leading. I want to intentionally seek out relationships, and adventure instead of allowing this life to pass me by without allowing me to order my moments.
